Projects \ November Tide

It began in 1985 when Chris Alvarado was heavily involved in the SLC Punk scene and picked up his first bass guitar. Alvarado has been involved in a multitude of projects in the last few years but recently has cultivated his project, November Tide. November Tide began as a basic concept, which transposed itself into quite a number of songs beginning in 1994. Alvarado has broad interests in many genres of music, sound and the new technology via computer generated method of composing. He has worked within a variety of these themes until electronica acoustics made itself an opportunity he decided to follow more closely. The sound of Alvarado’s creations lies not in one particular style, but weaves components from tribal, ambient, electronica and rhythm noise. Influences for November Tide were inspired by Husker Du, Iggy Pop, Andres Segovia, Heroes del Silencio, to name a couple. The listener can expect to alter the sense of being and awareness into a seasonal change of the tides.

Alvarado’s diverse musical background has provided him with a unique opportunity to work with bands ranging from punk to reggae and rock to folk. Some of these bands include, Harsh Reality, B.F.D., Shiv, Beat Iron Blue, Black Hole, 23 Extacy and Void to name a few.
